Micah looking dazed and confused, as per his usualHi, my name is Micah Abraham Zebulon Wedemeyer, and I’m a Ruby on Rails hacker from Atlanta, Georgia.

I got into Rails as a way to create my Dungeons & Dragons website, Obsidian Portal. While conceiving the idea, it occurred to me that it could eventually become a commercial endeavor. Stranger things have happened.

Along the way, I discovered that the journey into new technologies (Rails, the Web, Amazon S3, Solr, etc.) is pretty fun too. So, even if Obsidian Portal doesn’t make me a bazillionaire, I’m learning new stuff and having a good time at it.

I also started this blog as a way to communicate with myself, Ryan, and the rest of the web developer community. So many people have done so much for me along the way, like creating great tools like Ruby and MySQL. This blog is my paltry attempt at giving a little back.
